The Auckland Festival of Photography is a city-wide contemporary art and cultural event which takes place within Auckland's major galleries, project spaces, non-gallery venues and public sites in June each year. The annual Festival is New Zealand’s only dedicated photography festival and the largest visual arts event in the country, taking place in our most populated, cosmopolitan and colourful city.

The programme for the Festival includes both Signature and Fringe:

leading and established photographic artists and international talent along with our Annual Artist Commission, Talking Culture Symposium series, Festival Tuesday Circuit and Auckland Photo Day 24-hour competition.

amateur photography in an open access, grassroots festival display.

The Festival is produced by the Auckland Festival of Photography Trust, a charitable organisation which seeks to celebrate the accessible, democratic nature of photography as an art form and an expressive medium for all people.
